Small, medium or large: choosing a lamp size
Most designs come in three heights. The design is the same in each; what changes is how much of the room it lights and how much of the table it takes.
What the sizes measure
These are the whole lamp, base to top, across the range. Each product page gives the exact figures for that design.

Where each size goes
Small, and the Mini lamps, suit a bedside table, a shelf or a desk: close to you, light kept low.
Medium is the usual table lamp, for a side table or a sideboard.
Large is for a console, a sideboard or a corner that needs the lamp to be seen across the room.
Pendants are measured the same way. Over a dining table, the large size, or two smaller ones in a row, keep the light where people sit.
If you are between two sizes
Take the smaller one for a bedside, the larger one for anywhere you see it from across the room. Every part of a lamp can be bought again on its own later, so a colour can change; a size cannot.
