A mountain. A firefly. An umbrella. A lantern. Every lamp starts from something seen, and ends as a printed part you can hold. This is how four of them were made - designed and printed in Malaysia.
01 Fuji · In development
The shade follows the profile of Mount Fuji: a long, gentle foot that steepens towards a flat summit, with a jagged cap of snow printed in a second colour in the same print. It sits on a cordless light you can carry from room to room.

2. Printed. On a Bambu Lab P1S, layer by layer, 0.2 mm at a time, in plant-based PLA. The layers are left as they are: they are what the light catches.

3. The lamp. Put together by hand, magnets and all, and checked before it leaves the workshop.
02 Hotaru · Coming soon
Hotaru is the firefly: a small, soft light in the dark of a summer evening. The lamp is one round orb with a knit surface, lit from inside through two thin walls, on a low base - in eight colourways, each one colour in two tones.

03 Kasa · Coming soon
Kasa is the umbrella: a canopy gathered at a crown, pleated between its ribs. Here the pleats turn as they fall, so the dome twists as it glows, and the cap, band and base each take their own colour.

04 Chōchin · Coming soon
Chōchin is the folding lantern, its paper stretched over rings. The lamp keeps the lobes and the ribs, turned a little as they rise, and comes apart into five printed parts held together by magnets - so every part takes its own colour.

In Malaysia. Each lamp is designed and printed here, then put together by hand and checked before it leaves the workshop.
Each name is the Japanese word for what the lamp grew from - a mountain, a firefly, an umbrella, a lantern. The names are a nod to those things; the lamps themselves are designed and printed in Malaysia.
Translucent PLA for the parts that glow, matte PLA for the rest. PLA is a plastic made from plant sugars - from crops such as corn - instead of oil.
Each lamp is printed in layers 0.2 mm thick, and the layers are left as they are. Lit from inside, they are what the light catches.
An LED, always. Never an incandescent or halogen bulb: inside a closed shade it runs far hotter than a printed lamp is made for.
Made to be taken apart, recoloured and kept.
